On Nov. 8. O’Fallon’s Municipal Court Judge Dennis Chassaniol was elected to become Associate Circuit Judge for Division 10 in the St. Charles County Circuit Court. As such, he will be leaving his Municipal Court post at the end of this year.
At its meeting on Dec. 15, the O'Fallon City Council and Mayor Bill Hennessy recognized and thanked Chassaniol for his years of excellent service to the city. Hennessy also presented him with a plaque; then, Chassaniol and his wife received a loud ovation from the council and audience.
Hennessy explained that Chassaniol had been O’Fallon’s municipal judge from 2015 through 2022, as well as a municipal judge for other local cities. He thanked Chassaniol for his dedication and leadership of the court. Hennessy noted that the court has an excellent reputation that has attracted the attention of other cities. It now will be operating a municipal court on behalf of the cities of Lake Saint Louis and Weldon Spring, with all costs and expenses reimbursed to O’Fallon.
“We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors in St. Charles County," Hennessy told Chassaniol.
Chassaniol responded, saying “Thank you for the opportunity to serve the city I live in. O’Fallon has one of the best courts you can imagine. The court administrators and clerks are the best; I literally tell folks to call them for the answers. You are in good hands.
“Thank you to my wife and family, for putting up with me and my being gone at night.”
The court administrator and court clerk spoke briefly, thanking the judge for his encouragement and many “teachable moments.” They said he always demanded respect for his court and for his clerks. They also acknowledged the judge for keeping them connected with the court community and St. Charles County as well.
