Wallis Companies, owner of the Mobil On The Run brand of businesses, has requested a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for 2.84 acres at the southeast corner of Caledonia Drive and Hwy. DD.  The CUP would authorize a 6,000-square-foot building with a gas station, convenience store, restaurant with a drive-thru and a car wash. The gas station and drive-thru would operate 24 hours per day.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval, with conditions, including the prohibition of outdoor storage of restaurant equipment, and limits of sound to a maximum of 60dB at a straight-line distance of 100 feet or greater up to a height of 8 feet above the ground at any abutting property line.

Bill No. 7325 to authorize the CUP was given a public hearing and first reading at the July 8 council meeting.  If the normal process and timing are followed, the second reading and vote for passage would be at the July 22 council meeting.
