Boone Center, Inc. (BCI), a nonprofit that improves the lives of adults with disabilities through employment opportunities, will host an open house on Wednesday, May 18 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at its St. Peters location, 200 Trade Center Drive.
“We had to skip open house for two years due to the pandemic,” said BCI CEO Troy Compardo. “That makes our team even more excited to welcome back friends, families, and the community at large to see our operation, meet the employees, and learn more about our programs and initiatives.”
Guests will enjoy a welcome presentation, production floor tour, light refreshments, and a bag of products packaged by the St. Peters team. Optional tours of the Skills Center will also be available.
With contract packaging facilities in St. Charles and Lincoln counties employing 235, along with its employment services division and vocational training center, BCI is one of the largest sheltered employers in Missouri and one of the highest performing agencies for connecting individuals with developmental disabilities to competitive work.
BCI offers a continuum of employment and training opportunities. The agency’s Skills Center received the 2021 Cutting Edge Award from the Missouri Association of County Developmental Disabilities Services, an organization comprised of 55 county boards that provide services to an estimated 36,000 Missourians with disabilities across the state. The award honors organizations that provide unique, inclusive, dignified programs and services that promote learning for people with disabilities so that they may live more independently.
While the open house is free to attend, advance registration is requested by clicking here. For more information, contact Dee Gerstenkorn at (636) 875-5245 or via email at email@example.com.
BCI will host a second open house at its Lincoln County facility in the fall.
