Super Suppers, 'Your answer to. What's for Dinner?

By Mary Ann O'Toole Holley

If you dread walking into the house for fear someone will ask, "What's for dinner?" you're not alone.

Today's families are on the go. Mom works, dad works, the kids are out at basketball, football, dance lessons or just hanging at the mall. When you do cook, there is nobody there to eat it, and when you don't, your family accuses you of trying to starve them.

Super Suppers, "Your answer to. What's for Dinner?" is ready to take the pain out of providing for a houseful of hungry people.

With two locations, Super Suppers can provide you with a supply of ready-to-eat full-course meals that are prepared, packed and ready to pop into your freezer. When the kids want meatball sub sandwiches, smile and say sure; when a husband has a craving for Kansas City Braised Chicken with Fettuccini, it's a "can do" in minutes.

Good Housekeeping ranks Super Suppers among the top five food services for saving money on individual or family meals, and Super Supper at the Winghaven Boardwalk owners Tom and Tammy Ginn are ready to make it all happen.

A new concept in home cooking brings you the opportunity to create a month's worth of easy-to-cook meals from Super Suppers' extensive menu.

At Super Suppers, they handle the shopping, chopping and mopping for you. There's no stress or kitchen mess when you opt to select Super Suppers' six or 12 chef-designed entrees to take home and freeze.

With easy-to-follow recipes, the right ingredients and cooking instructions in front of you, all you have to bring is an ice chest or laundry basket to easily transport your meals home.

Each entrée is designed to feed four to six people, but if you have a smaller family (or smaller eaters), you can split your entrées and double the number of meals for the same low price. Half meals run at about $10, full meals at $20, six meals at $115 and 12 meals at $205.

With an average entrée price of around $3 per serving, you can save hundreds of dollars, not to mention the countless hours you might have spent slaving over the stove every night or waiting in line at a fast food.

Their Crunchy Herbed Fish can be grilled or pan-fried in less than 10 minutes. With its crunchy coating seasoned with basil, garlic, onion and parsley, it's loaded with flavor.

Asian Grilled Flank Steak is one of their most popular beef entrées, featuring a special mix of soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, brown sugar and other Asian flavors. Pop it on the grill, or cook in a skillet on the stovetop. Servings: 10 (3 oz. each).

Supper Super's Bacon-Wrapped Burgers with Saucy Pintos were featured in Family Circle magazine. Ground beef is mixed with special seasonings, then wrapped in bacon. They're great on the grill or cooked in a skillet. Then, dig into the barbecue-flavored, sweet-sour beans. All they need is a quick heat-up and dinner's ready.

"Each month we feature a new selection of 12 entrees, and add a couple of the favorites from the month before," said Tom Ginn. "The concept is that a family would use our foods three times a week. The thing is, we offer flexibility with today's families and lifestyles and those who have no time to cook."

Customers are invited to come in during regular business hours and "prepare" as many meals as they'd like from the huge "buffet" of entrees spaced in the beautiful surroundings of Super Suppers at the Winghaven Boardwalk.

If your life is too busy to "prepare" the foods, Super Suppers accepts online and call-in orders and will prepare them, bag them and have them ready to pick up as you rush to your next PTA meeting or golf outing.

Try "Grab 'n Go" for the busiest of times when you can't even schedule a session or pre-order your food, Super Suppers has pre-assembled entrées, sides and desserts. Just walk into your local Super Suppers and quickly purchase meals from our Grab n' Go freezer. You can still bring home an entire meal of healthy, delicious food to home-cook when you have no time at all.

"One customer ordered a half order of cranberry barbecue pork chops to take to a friend who had just been released from the hospital," Ginn said. "Why stop at McDonalds when we have the ultimate flexibility."
